Growing up along the front range of Colorado has provided amazing opportunities for goose hunting. My first hunt was when I was eleven years old, my dad took me out and we got skunked but I got hooked. On that day the passion began to burn in my heart for chasing honkers and that fire has only been fueled and burns more intensely since that first hunt almost eight years ago. In 2005 I began my goose calling career and have since become fairly accomplished, placing second in the 2008 Colorado State goose calling contest and tying for 12th in the world goose calling contest in Easton, MD this year as well as 20 other top five finishes. I attribute this success to Mr. Tim Grounds who has been a big part this. This fall I will be attending college for my associate’s degree and then following in my father’s and grandfathers’ footsteps and go into the oil industry. Right now I’m also a Field Expert for Drake Waterfowl Systems so that helps keep my busy during the off season if there is such a thing. I also spend my summers working full time and always preparing for the season to come. I’m so glad to be a part of Dakota Decoy as it’s a product I believe in. I feel like the lord has blessed me with so many opportunities in the hunting industry and am very grateful for that, I look forward to being a part of Dakota and am excited as to what the future may hold. Waterfowl hunting isn’t something that I just do, it’s who I am.
