Adam Strong

I'm Adam Strong; I am 18 years old and reside in one of the United States most pristine and beautiful states, Colorado. I currently live in Ft. Collins in the Northern part of the state but, I was born in Pueblo, Colorado. I began hunting at a very young age for rabbits, quail, pheasant, and turkey but my love and passion for waterfowl hunting didn't start until I moved to Fort Collins with my family at the age of 9. My dad took me on my first duck hunt in November of 2001, and I was fortunate to take not only my first Mallard Drake, but also my first limit of ducks including another 4 mallards, two hens, and a Green wing Teal hen. I also shot my first 3 geese later that year. I was fortunate enough to become friends with Forrest Carpenter in 2003 and began to hunt with him from time to time. Forrest taught me how to blow a duck call and the start on a short reed goose call. I tried my first duck calling contest in 2004 and I took second place. I then met Shane McCoy at that same event and I must give Shane about 90% credit for getting me to the point I am now on a goose call. Since 2005 I have become fairly distinguished in the duck and goose calling circuit with placing including:

-2nd Place, 2008 CO. State Duck Championship
-3rd Place, 2008 CO. State Goose Calling Championship
-1st Place, 2007 SD Meat duck
-1st Place, 2008 CO. Meat Duck
-2nd, Sportsmen’s Warehouse Open Goose

And several other 1st place finishes and many more top three finishes. I also have been fortunate enough to meet Fred Zink and build a small relationship with him, I began to Pro-Staff for Zink Calls in 2004 and have been with Zink Calls ever since and don't plan on looking back. Waterfowl Hunting is me; it is my life, passion, and love.

Off Season: During the off season, I spend most of my free time shooting shotgun sports such as Skeet and Sporting Clays. I shoot Skeet competitively in all 4 gauges and doubles events. This not only keeps you brushed up on your shooting skills but gives you room to improve and come waterfowl season, the geese seem like they are sitting still! I also love to train my Chesapeake Bay retriever, Drake. He has become my best hunting buddy and will be for many years to come! Aside from shooting and dog training, I attend as many calling contests as possible and work the show between events for Zink Calls and now Dakota Decoys. When I am not doing the above three things, I work for Foothills Landscape Maintenance as a Crew Leader to save money for the upcoming waterfowl season.
