Cooper Olmstead

My name is Cooper Olmstead and I was born and raised in central Iowa, where I currently still reside. I was first introduced to the addiction of waterfowl at the age of twelve after my fathers death by a close family friend. Even though everything that could have possibly went wrong did and it rained non-stop for half the morning, I was instantly hooked and have been ever since I fired that first shell and watched that first bird fall. The first few years of my hunting career were held to minimum hunting on the weekends only and staying confined to my local areas. Due to not being able to drive. Once I was able to drive I was opened up to a whole new area of hunting and also to field hunting geese. Each year to follow I kept broadening my horizons each year from hunting different areas to different states and then also to perusing different birds. Waterfowling is a major part of my life and something I hope will remain there till the end, because there’s nothing else like it and it cant be beat.

In the off season I find myself still surround with waterfowl related activities, as do we all I’m sure. I enjoy taking my dog out and working with him, even though he tends to do whatever he wants to do, males. I also find myself working on boats, changing blinds, cleaning them, etc. Also you can find me on the river or the lake fishing or on the golf course playing in a tournament.
