I was born in Lapeer MI on February 3, 1987. At the age of four I went on my first deer hunt with my grandfather. As I got older and strong enough to go out and hunt other game he showed me the tricks of his trade for many different species of game.
After his passing I spent most of my time where I could be closest to him… and that was hunting. After a couple years of hunting by my-self, my Uncle Mark and long time family friend Tim Barden invited me out on a duck hunt. It was a draw hunt at the Fish Point waterfowl reserve in November. It came and went with no ducks or geese to speak of. It wasn’t till the next season that I would get my first taste of good waterfowl hunting.
It was the fall 2005 season I had just gotten done with my senior year football season and it was cold. The temperature dropped over night and my Uncle called me on the phone to see if I would be interested in going out on the bay to do some duck hunting. I was all for it. I spent the night and the next day was a blast we shot close to a four man limit of divers. That hunt would be like a deadly virus entering my blood stream once it infected me it could never be vaccinated. It is a lifestyle that I didn’t choose…. It chose me.
Since that day I have been working on gaining all of the knowledge that I can about calling, decoying, and scouting that I can. I spend hours a week working on my calling and reading to keep my skills up to date. When I’m not working on those two I am working on things for my company. My companies name is S.W.A.T. Strategic Waterfowl Assault Team.
Knowing how this passion was growing in me I wanted to find a group of guys my age who shared the same passion as myself. After looking for three months I had found this group I had started out to find. I brought them on to my team and into my company. They are the most promising individuals that I could find. Each have a certain quality that can be utilized in S.W.A.T.’s growth.
