Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. I was hooked on bird hunting at 11 years old by my Grandfather. Doves were really the main bird in that area to hunt consistently. I never found out about waterfowl till I went to college in eastern NC where friends got me hooked. Since that time in my life I have chased ducks and geese all over Canada and the US. After working in the real world running restaurants and selling insurance for many years I decided to pack up and move to South Dakota and guide for a large lodge outside Watertown SD. It was truly a bird hunter’s dream land and I miss it often. A southern boy like me could only take so many of those winters. After 5 years in SD it was time to go back east. I ended up in Maryland on the Eastern Shore working for Pintail Point as their Hunting and Kennel Manager. The geese numbers have returned to the Shore making it one of the great waterfowl areas in the US, once again.
I never thought waterfowl hunting would provide me with a career. I have been very blessed. I have made great friends through hunting. You may have seen me a few times on TV or video with Hunter Specialties series Takem 7, 8 and 10 or in some Benelli stuff. I currently have my lab Angus and Shorthair Briar as hunting buddies. I also have started my own company called Tobacco Road Outfitters and plan on being in NC for the 2010 season.
Last but most important my wife Rachael and our little girl that will be arriving spring 2010 and all of our family. I love them all and could not do what I do without their support.
