It started out as a dream, and today this dream is becoming his life. It is much more then a hobby, much more then any sport, and there is something about waterfowl, and hunting in general that is indescribable. Live out your dreams, inspire others and acknowledge God along the way.
Jake Piel was born and raised here in the great state of Washington. He began hunting at the age of 10, and took his first game animal at the age of 12. Since then he has spent time hunting in 8 different states and 2 countries, killing limits of ducks and geese. Jake began his passion for waterfowl in high school, on the riverbanks of the Columbia River near Reed Island, with close family friends Jay and Jake Ponce. He can now be found all over the country and here in his home state of Washington hunting and guiding clients to they’re limits of ducks, geese, and a turkey here and there.
At age 18 Jake was hired by Field N’ Marsh Outfitters as a waterfowl guide. Jake has been guiding waterfowl for 3 seasons now, and is currently still working for field N Marsh Outfitters, as a sub contracted waterfowl, turkey, and deer hunting guide.
During the off-season he can be found working promotional events for companies he represents, and giving hunting seminars around the northwest. Jake also spends time working with his local chapter of Ducks Unlimited, where he volunteers to plan each years Auction/Benefit dinner.
Jake represents several different companies in the outdoor industry striving each day to promote each product and test each product to its fullest potential. Jake currently is a member of Dakota Decoy’s “X-Treme Team”, as well as a member of “Team Strait Meat” (Foiles Migrators) Benelli USA’s national shooting staff, Drake Waterfowl “Field Expert Staff”, Goose Noose Lanyards, and was selected by Krugerfarms.com as a “Certified Elite Guide”.
Jake’s plans for the near future consist of the widespread growth of his waterfowl guide service (On the X Outfitters), and he plans to complete his college degree in Video Productions. He plans to continue contributing to the growth of Dakota Decoy, Foiles Migrators, Drake Waterfowl, Benelli USA, Krugerfarms.com and Goose Noose Lanyards here in the northwest. He will continue to strive to become one of the leading guides in the Northwest and plans to build a personal relationship with his teammates and to grow with the companies that Jake is currently representing.
