My hunting years began with mostly whitetail deer hunting on our family farm along with the occasional squirrel and rabbit hunt. Deer hunting began when I was twelve with bow hunting which is still a great passion of mine. As I grew older I was able to carry a firearm a field which as you all know gives you more opportunities to hunt different game. Through the years my father and I have hunted just about everything together. This even includes a trek half way around the world for a two week African safari. That’s a whole other conversation. I’ll just say if you have the opportunity to go there, DO IT!! You will never have an experience like it.

      All of my big game hunting has slowed down ever since I was introduced into waterfowling about six years ago. Ever since that first night hiding in the corn and watching those giant canadians work I’ve been more than hooked! Ever day now is consumed with thoughts of the upcoming season. I am like every other waterfowl fanatic out there. Blowing goose calls in my truck to and from work. Setting decoys in the yard, you name it. Since that first night I have traveled all over Michigan chasing ducks and geese. The last few years I’ve found myself in North Dakota, Tennessee, Ohio, Illinois and every where in between it seems like. I’ve been truly blessed to be able to meet so many great people in this sport who have helped me through the years.

      Aside from hunting I’m a very avid golfer and I also enjoy biking and running. Each year a group of us participate in as many 5k races as we can. These races donate so much to charities in our area that it gives you great satisfaction knowing you can make a difference. I would like to thank the Dakota Decoy Company for giving me an opportunity to work with them. I’m very excited to see where this company will be in five years. The product line is truly the best in the industry. My hope in working with this great company is to give back to the hunting community that has given so much to me.
