Hello! My name is Matt Miller. Being raised in the southern panhandle of Nebraska, located right in the middle of the South and North Platte rivers. Even though I was located in the middle of the birds migration path, it was nearly impossible to get the birds to come down to my blind surrounded by my few homemade decoys, and my $10 call. Many times my neighbor asked my Dad and I to go to his blind. Being able to take my first goose there hooked me for life on waterfowl hunting. Even with having an abundance of upland game available within 5 miles of my house, waterfowl has been my true obsession from the first time. Trying to get out and hunt was a weekly routine through the season while in school.
In college, I saved up some money and bought a few shell decoys and noticed a BIG difference from my simple trash bag decoys I started with. Through the years of hunting, being able to buy more and better decoys, and learning to call better,more birds came in and days didnt seem as cold. The first time that I saw Dakota Decoys, I saw more quality than I had in any other decoy. After using them for the first time, I was convinced there was no other decoy to use. They have a great amount of realism, and they are very wind proof! A quality that is needed in western Nebraska. I am proud to say that I am part of a company that puts quality ahead of quanity and helps to promote overall enjoyment to the sport. Even though i didnt have the greatest equipment, I enjoyed every minute of being in the field. I feel that just enjoying the time out in the field no matter what the birds are doing, or what the weather is like, is the most important part of huning. Passing that on to the next generation is important.
