Ryan Warden
My name is Ryan Warden and I live in Haven, KS a small town about fifteen minutes Northwest of Wichita, KS. I am happily married with two beautiful daughters both under the age of five. The youngest cannot speak but can quack and point out the window when we are scouting geese. If I don’t acknowledge her she just gets louder until I say I see them. I too have been hunting since I was old enough to walk to my father’s truck. I grew up hunting in Western Kansas and the waterfowl numbers were slim to none until about my freshman year of high school. I killed 13 geese that year with a dozen shells, burlap bags, one shovel, and an old wooden short reed. I loved watching the birds work and could not get enough of it.

I have hunted over almost every decoy on the market and have had a hard time finding the right one. It needed to have quality when it came to design and looks. It need to have durability when it came to being backed over, kicked, or shot in the field because that is what happens. It needed it to be easy to get in and out of the field and ride well in a trailer. And the last thing I needed but one of the most important was motion. A thousand decoys with no motion you can hunt over. For myself I would rather be hunting over thirty-six decoys that are all moving. I have been an Outfitter now for 8 years and I am in the fields on an average of 4-6 days a week throughout most of the season. Our decoys get shot, ran over, kicked, hit by falling geese, and pitched into a trailer by guys that think it is a distance throwing contest. These reasons are the core reasons why I choose to hunt with Dakota Decoys! When you are a full time Outfitter you have to do your homework people expect it and some demand it. At the end of the day you have to be confident in what you have for an answer. My crew and me found not only the answer but also the solution. Thanks Dakota Decoy Company!
