I was born and raised near Tomah, an area located in Central Wisconsin known for its big whitetails and cranberries. I started hunting at a young age with my father Blaine. I started following him through the central Wisconsin woods chasing coonhounds until I was old enough to hunt deer. I didn’t start waterfowl hunting until my senior year in high school when a friends and his dad took me to the might Mississippi River. Since then I have been hooked!
After high school I moved to Ely Minnesota where I attended College at Vermillion Community College and obtained an AS Degree in Water Quality. During those few years I met Jen and we got married September of 2008. We have no children but 2 labs; Megan and Tiel. After College we moved to the twin cities were I currently work for the City of Woodbury as a Public Service Worker in water and sewer.
Is there really an “off season”? It seems as hunters in general if were not reminiscing about hunting on a slow day at work during those long summer months, talking to friends and fellow hunting companions about a great hunt that past season, buying gear for the upcoming season, coming up with new strategies for the next, the list goes on and on! I like to spend my “non hunting” days with my wife banking those precious get out of jail cards for the fall.
