Werner resides in Chester County, Pennsylvania with his wife of twenty five years Maureen.
Werner's first taste of hunting was at the age of eight, hunting pheasants with his father and at this time a seed was planted. His hunting now mainly consists of waterfowl and whitetails. With Delaware’s and Chester County's soaring wintering goose population it’s made hunting them a staple fall activity.

In 1999 an interest in waterfowl calls took hold and with a strong background in design and machining, the first calls took shape. Over the past years his calls have been used in many competitions, including both the world championships for ducks in Stuttgart AR, and goose in Easton, MD.

In 2004 Werner was invited to judge the World Goose Calling Contest at Easton, MD. He has since judged in just about every contest that Pennsylvania and Maryland has to offer.

What has had the greatest impression on Werner where hunting is concerned has been his seven year affiliation with the NWTF and the Wheel’in Sportsmen. Werner has had the honor to be chosen as a guide to participate in their yearly hunt, where physically challenged hunters take to the field at Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuge. Werner remarks, “I knew it was a good thing I was doing for these hunters, but reflecting back it’s the best thing I've done for myself."
